Caring is a complex and challenging role. Our members of staff, headed by Michelle Sims, are our greatest asset
Care staff are an important factor in the quality of life of residents. They are the ones that spend the most time with them and are involved in most aspects of their daily living as well as in times of illness or distress.
Our members of staff are chosen carefully, based on their understanding of the range of issues that older people living in care homes face and the practice that they appreciate. Although past experience is highly valued, personal qualities are as important as formal qualifications. We look for empathy as much as efficiency, especially in staff who will support with personal and intimate care when necessary.
It is important for us that all members of our staff understand how they can contribute to the daily activities and well-being of our residents.Crucially, they want to make a difference and they do.
Training and development are given high priority at Forest Care Home to ensure our staff members continually develop their skills. This means that their health knowledge is always current and they practise the best quality care.
Our care assistants may come from all walks of life but they have one thing in common: a genuine passion in caring for our residents, in a way that gives them the dignity, respect and enjoyment they deserve.
