So many opportunities to laugh, learn, love, dream, connect with others and be noticed
We believe passionately that being treated with dignity is a basic human right, not an optional extra. Dignity is about being treated as an individual with respect, thoughtfulness and empathy. To this end we ensure our care service is wholly person-centred.
Understanding what matters to the individual, including his or her values and wishes is essential to person-centred care. Each resident is treated as an individual, their independence and self-respect are promoted, their privacy maintained and their dignity preserved.
Person-centred care encompasses four elements:
valuing people and those who care for them;
treating people as individuals;
looking at the world from the perspective of the individual; and
providing a positive social environment in which the person can experience relative well-being (Brooker, 2004).
The Home Manager, Michelle Sims, and staff will spend time with you to create a personal care plan that empowers you and helps every staff member to provide the care you need, in the way you prefer it.
Your personal care plan will be kept up-to-date to keep pace with you. Care assistants will get to know your unique character, the way you like to do things, from your early morning cup of coffee or tea to your daily time spent in the garden.
We appreciate that older people and their relatives want residential homes to offer "a home for life. We strive to do that.
We also know that often it's the small things you can do that have the greatest impact on people's lives. Our care is driven by going the extra mile, as one human being to another, and remembering those small things that matter.
