|Visiting and Maintaining Contact|
We understand that moving to a care home will probably mean the loss of some relationships, as well as an environment which holds precious memories. Maintaining links with significant people will be important. We fully appreciate that seemingly insignificant things can matter tremendously. All contact is valuable.
Visiting and contact
You can visit friends and relatives who are resident in Forest Care Home whenever you want, including meal times. You're welcome to enjoy the communal areas and garden; if you would like more privacy you can visit with your loved one in their own room.
Sometimes you may find it impossible to visit in person. Contact with your loved one can be maintained by:
- telephone –a member of staff will be happy to pass on a message.
- email – we'll pass on any email messages you send.
Many residents gain a huge amount of pleasure in spending a short time away from the care home for a meal with family or friends, a day trip out, a weekend visit or a longer holiday.
It is crucial that we always hold the correct contact details for you in case of emergency. If you're the nominated contact on our records, we'll contact you immediately if your loved one is ill. It is vital that you tell us about any changes in your contact details.
Changes in details
Please let us know if you move house so we can update records appropriately. Please leave temporary contact details with us if you are going away on holiday or on business to enable us to contact you in case of emergency.
